17th May 1999 I was born in Sweden 15th of December. When I was 4-years old, me and my family moved to Finland, to a town called Sipoo. When I turned six I started school. Right now I'm 17 years old and I'm working on this page in Burke, South Dakota. After my first year in Hotel and Management school I left to be a foreign exchange student. Now I'm in the point, where I have only 12 days left and I'm returning to Finland. I've been here for a long time and it is hard to believe I'm going back to my family! This ummer I'm gonna work for my parents in their store. Hopefully they just don't find too much work for me!! :D

My exchange year in United States My flight from Helsinki, Finland left the 5th of June, 1998. My family and my boyfriend came to the airport to say good-bye. There was ten other kids that came on the same plane with me. We had the same flight to Amsterdam and from there to Boston, U.S. When I arrived Sioux Falls airport in South Dakota. I was so nervous! I was in the big world, all by myself. Now, I've been here for almost ten months and I'm returning to Finland in 8 days. I'm both kind of sad and excited! The family I lived with is the family of Smikle's. Actually I moved in with them the 1st of December. Cathy, my "sister" at Smikle's is in my grade. We are both Juniors. She's a boys basketball cheerleader and she plays on Burke High Schools girls basketball team. I also have another "sister" Dawn nad a little "brother" Jon. Patty and Tomi Smikle live on a ranch 7 miles from town. They raise miniature horses and donkeys.
